Getting StartedHow do I create a user account?To create an account with a College Alc or myPlaybook site, please follow these instructions: 1. Enter the link provided by your school into your browser. Note: these sites do not use “www.” 2. From the homepage, click on the Don't have a username? Click here link. It is located beneath the login form in the right column. 3. Enter the required information into the registration form. It is recommended that you use your school email address when registering. NOTE: Usernames and passwords are case sensitive, For example johnq@email.com is considered different than JohnQ@email.com. Please remember to note how you entered this information into the form. 4. At the bottom, you will be asked to provide a School Registration Code. This a 6 digit code that is sent to you by your school or provided by a professor. 5. Click the “Register” button to continue. If this button is grayed out, you have not entered the correct registration code. Where do you I get the Registration Code?The registration code is provided by your school’s administrator. It should have been included with the communication you received from the school regarding College Alc or myPlaybook. If not, please contact your school’s student affairs department or health department. I have several e-mail addresses. Which one should I use to register with College Alc or myPlaybook?Unless you have been instructed differently by your school, use your school e-mail address as the username. I can't get passed the first registration webpage. What should I do?Go through the form and make sure all the required information has been completed accurately. Make sure you have entered the correct Registration Code. The Registration Code is 6 digits and case sensitive, which means "CODE12" is interpreted differently from "code12". If you checked to make sure all the information is complete and accurate, submit a help request for more details. I am trying to login, but keep getting the following error "clsUser:Login : Invalid login information. Login failed." What should I do?This usually occurs when either the username or password have been entered incorrectly. Check to make sure you've entered your username and password correctly. Specifically, check to insure that you are using the right letter case since these fields are case sensitive. If you're still having trouble, you can reset your password. Taking the College Alc or myPlaybook CourseWhat are the system requirements for the site?To start taking the College Alc or myPlaybook course, please follow these instructions: 1. Browser: For PC users, use Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 2 or higher. For Mac users, use Safari 1.2 or higher. 2. Plug ins: Macromedia Flash Player 8 or higher. (Download the latest version here) 3. Popup Blockers: Turn off ALL popup blockers in your browser as well as any search engine pop-up blockers (e.g., Yahoo) and any virus scan software (e.g., McAfee). 4. Visit your school's College Alc or myPlaybook site. 5. If you are a new user, click on Don't have a username? Click here. Complete the registration form using your email address as your username. Please remember to note how you wrote it into the form. I logged in successfully, what should I do now?You will need to enroll in the College Alc or myPlaybook course. 1. Select the College Alc or myPlaybook course under the Course Catalog. For more information, click on the Details icon. 2. To enroll in the course, click on the Go button. 3. After you're enrolled, click on the Go button to view the lessons. 4. Start the first lesson by clicking on Go button again. When you return to the site, you will find the course under the “My Courses and Information – Enrolled" tabs. I'm trying to launch the lesson by clicking on the Go button and a page appears saying Courseware Blocked. What happened?This usually happens when you still have a popup-blocker active on your PC. The College Alc or myPlaybook lessons open in a new browser window, which triggers popup-blockers preventing the lesson from displaying. Check to make sure all popup-blockers are turned off or set to allow popups from the College Alc or myPlaybook site. It's common for computers to run several popup-blockers simultaneously. If you tried turning off a popup-blocker but still have trouble with the lesson, there may be another popup blocker active on your PC. Popup-blockers may run as separate programs in the background or embedded in your browser, search toolbar, or security software. If any of these programs exist on your computer, check their settings to see if a popup-blocker is active. In any case where you find an instance of a popup-blocker, turn it off or change its settings to allow popups for the College Alc or myPlaybook site. When I start taking lessons, can I stop and come back later?Yes, the lesson will automatically remember where you left off provided you have closed the lesson properly. To close and exit the lesson, click on the Exit button in the bottom left and wait until the "Processing Data...Please Wait" message completes. Note: Do not exit the lesson during a quiz or a test. How do I see how much progress I've made in the course?To check on your progress, click on My Courses & Information link in the top navigation menu. In the left navigation menu, click on the My Courses link. You'll see a table listing your current course. Select the course you wish to view by clicking on the Go button. On the following page, you'll see a listing of lessons and their status. I finished a lesson with a passing score, but my status didn't change to complete. What should I do?This problem occurs when there is a break in the Internet connection which prevents the lesson status information to be updated properly. Try relaunching the lesson, navigate to the completed page and close the lesson using the Exit button. Wait while the lesson closes and the Processing Data window completes. Please be patient this may take a minute or two. If the lesson status does not update properly, submit a help request here. If I completed the course and start again, will my previous record be lost?No, the LearnPoint learning management system will keep your score and certificate in its database. Any attempts to take the course again will be regarded as review sessions and not affect the previous score. Once you receive a passing score in a lesson, your score will be locked. I completed the course but all of the lessons now show as “Not Started”?You may have accidentally re-enrolled in the College Alc or myPlaybook course. The system allows you to enroll in the course again after it has been completed. To confirm that you completion data is still there; click on the My Courses and Information tab. In the center of the screen, you will see four tabs “Enrolled, Overdue, Completed and Expired”. Click on the “completed” tab to view your completed information for College Alc or myPlaybook. If you completed College Alc or myPlaybook but it does not appear under the Completed tab, please submit a help request here. PasswordsI can't remember my password, what should I do?To retrieve a password, click on the “I forgot my password” link below the login fields. On the next page, enter your e-mail address and a new password will be sent to your e-mail address. If the username/email address doesn't work, check the spelling to see if the capitals and lower-case letters match exactly to how it was set up in the site. In case you can't remember, try several combinations and if you can't get it to rest, submit a help request here. How do I change my password if I am able to log into my account?To change your password while you're logged in, click on the My Course & Information page. Then click on the Account Information link in the left navigation menu. On the next page, click on the Change Password button. On the Change Password page, enter your old password, and then the new password twice. Click on the Save Changes button to finalize the change. Certificate of CompletionI finished the College Alc or myPlaybook course, now how do I see and print my certificate?Your certificate can be accessed by going to the My Courses & Information page, then selecting the My Certificate link in the left menu. The next page will list your completed courses and provide three links below the title: Details, View, and Print. Click on the View link to see a screen version of the certificate. To print it out, click on the Print link.
